Biography

Jake Joseph Weinstock was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. Jake graduated from Loyola University of New Orleans in 2013, with a B.A. in History and a minor in Business, with Dean’s List Honors. At Loyola, he was a varsity athlete and pitcher for the Wolf Pack baseball team. He received his J.D. from Law School at Tulane University in 2016. At Tulane, Jake received a Certificate of Concentration in Sports Law, under the direction of Gabriel Feldman, and relished competing in Tulane’s Trial Advocacy Program, under the tutelage of Scott R. Bickford. Jake began his career in the fall of 2016, and immediately set out to obtain results for his clients at the Cossé Law Firm, LLC. Jake’s practice is dedicated exclusively to plaintiff’s personal injury law and to handling first-party hurricane claims for victims of named storms, such as Hurricane Ida.

As a part of his work, Jake is actively involved with the AAJ, the national organization dedicated to training plaintiff’s lawyers, and has attended the AAJ Annual Convention, the AAJ Traumatic Brain Injury Seminar, and multiple annual conferences of the North American Brain Injury Society. Jake is currently a member of the AAJ Traumatic Brain Injury group, the Louisiana State Bar Association, and the Louisiana Association for Justice.

Jake’s practice focuses on helping clients who have suffered concussions, also known as traumatic brain injuries, in accidents. Jake also vigorously represents clients with severe orthopedic injuries, often to a client’s neck, back, shoulder, or knee, and is intimately familiar with the practice of Interventional Pain Management, a non-surgical approach for patients with serious injuries.

Jake has been featured in the Louisiana Jury Verdict Reporter for his trial results. In 2018, after practicing law for just over two (2) years, he attained a jury trial verdict of $350,000.00 in general damages for a client who was forced to undergo arthroscopic shoulder surgery, as the result of injuries suffered in a motor vehicle accident. In 2019, after that verdict, Jake was named to the Top 40 Under 40 List by the American Academy of Attorneys. In May of 2020, despite courthouses being shuddered due to the worldwide COVID pandemic, he attained his first settlement of over $1,000,000.00. Further, Jake handles a tremendous volume of First-Party Bad Faith claims, both for injured clients, and for homeowners and business owners who have insurers that aren’t playing by the rules, after hurricanes.

Jake is married to Angel Weinstock. Together, they have one dog, and have committed to making the New Orleans area their home.
